Industrial structures that are hardly accessible by personnel can be accessed through remote sensing means. The Svarmi team surveyed structural damage at an aluminum smelter in Hvalfjörður, West Iceland. In order to bypass the high magnetic fields generated by the pipes, we designed our own camera mount.

Both a high resolution true color camera along with a thermal camera were used to be able to identify potential structural damages such as holes in the pipe

Custom designed solutions

When drones cannot be used, we can build our own platforms to sense whatever is needed. In this case, a camera rig was created in order to access the most difficult areas of the pipe, which a drone will not have been able to do so.
